How to install and register a standalone copy of ArcGIS 9.2

Installation:

1. Obtain the installation files:
   o Borrow the Install DVD from the iTech office
   - or -
   o Download the installation files from \\Atlantic\MLMLAPPS\ESRI\ArcGIS9.2\Standalone\
   
2. Run the ESRI.exe file in the \Standalone\ directory.
   
3. Select the "ArcGIS ArcEditor" option.
   
4. Select the "Install ArcGIS Desktop" option.
   
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
   
6. Proceed to the Registration Instructions below.

Licensing:

The ArcGIS 9.2 Standalone license file is located on atlantic in the MLMLAPPS directory. (\\atlantic\MLMLAPPS\ESRI\Licenses\ArcGIS_9.2_standalone_key.txt)


1. Click on the Start button, go to All Programs, ArcGIS, Desktop Administrator.
   
2. Click on the "Register Single Use and Extensions" folder on the left panel of the Desktop Administrator window.
   
3. Click the "Register Now" button on the right panel.
   
4. Select the "I have installed ArcEditor and need to register the software." option, click the "Next" button.
   
5. Select the "Register now using the internet." option, click the "Next" button.
   
6. Fill out the form as follows, then click the "Next" button.
   
   First Name: Your First Name
   Last Name: Your Last Name
   Organization: Moss Landing Marine Labs
   Department: <leave blank>
   Address 1: 8272 Moss Landing Rd.
   Address 2: <leave blank>
   City: Moss Landing
   State: CA
   Zip: 95039
   Country: United States
   
7. Fill out the next form as follows and click the "Next" button.
   
   Phone Number: Phone number of your lab
   Fax Number: <leave blank>
   Email: Your MLML email address
   Your Organization: Education-Student
   Your Industry: Higher Education
   Yourself: Customer
   
8. Enter the registration number for ArcEditor from the license file in the and click the "Next" Button.
   
9. Enter the registration numbers for each of the ArcGIS extensions you would like to register and click the "Next" button.
   
10. Select the "I do not want to evaluate and extensions at this time" option and click the "Next" button.
    
11. Click the "Finish" button.
